Spiegelman visits Marist
Art Spiegelman, comic artist and author of the comic series “Maus” came to Marist for a lecture and q&a session. When the Twin Towers fell, something rose from the Pulitzer prize-winning author. The outcome was The Shadow of No Towers, a graphic novel that traces the author’s frightening day on Sept. 11, 2001. ”Disaster is my muse,” says Spiegelman, who won the Pulitzer Prize in 1992 for Maus, a similarly unsettling comic book about his father’s experience in the Holocaust.
